Why must we choose an upright model?
The placement of the water tank directly determines the energy-saving effect of the solar energy system. Vertical water tanks can make full use of the principle of thermal stratification—hot water naturally rises and cold water sinks to the bottom, resulting in a significant temperature difference between the top and bottom. The system can prioritize using the high-temperature hot water from the top, reducing the frequency of auxiliary heating and truly achieving the effect of saving electricity and energy.
In contrast, horizontal water tanks allow hot and cold water to mix easily, resulting in poor heat stratification and a lower overall water temperature. This necessitates more frequent activation of the backup heating element to replenish the temperature, significantly increasing power consumption. This is a crucial issue often overlooked in Taiwan's solar water heating systems.
